Grapes, we have your Grapes

While we were on the big campout a friend of my son's brought a Green Grape Pie.  It was good. As I asked he sent the recipe. I haven't tried it yet, but will sometime next week.  Try it; if you need to find grapes come to my house. Here is the recipe John sent:

Green Grape Pie
From the Kitchen of Larry Najvar

Ingredients
1 unbaked pastry shell
5 cups drained green grapes

Custard
½ cup evaporated milk
2 eggs well beaten
1 ½ cups sugar
1/3 cups flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Streusel Topping
4 Tbl. Butter
8 Tbl. Flour
8 Tbl Sugar

Instructions
Line pastry shell with drained green grapes. Mix custard ingredients well and pour over grapes. Mix streusel topping and put over top of the pie. Bake 325 oven for 1 hour or until pie is firm in the center.

To freeze green grapes
Pick green grapes when very small (slightly larger than pea size). Pick wood stems off the grapes. Wash grapes. Put desired amount of grapes into freezer bags. Freeze until ready to use.

To cook
Bring to boil and cook only until grapes turn color. Drain to use in green grape pie.

It's so weird that I had a dream last night about eating wild grapes! WOW! But they weren't your grapes, but grapes on the land of a friend of mine that lives just outside of Tallahassee.
